Aluminum Origin & Certification

Start with the order’s requirements

Ordinary 6061, 7075 and 7050 aluminum alloys are outside the specialty-metal definition in DFARS 252.225-7009. The purchase order can still impose separate origin, material and documentation requirements. Identify the clause, revision and source requirement that apply to the actual aluminum item. Section 252.225-7014 is currently reserved.

Choose the required origin

Nox provides origin options for aluminum orders. Select Domestic when the order requires United States melt, or the required qualifying source option when specified. Documentation and traceability

Mill certifications are included with orders. Match the supplied heat or lot to the required material specification and source records. Melt, smelt and manufacture are different stages; check whichever origin fields the purchase order requires. A mill or distributor address alone does not establish all of those facts.

Confirm the required certificate package

State any additional origin declarations, supplier approvals, document format or retention requirements in the quote request so they can be confirmed for the material offered. A general compliance label is not a certification of every clause in a customer contract.
